A real stupid day ! Forecast wasn't good... and it was right. Arrived around midday and there looked to be enough wind but as I attached the last line to the kite it died...completely and started to pour with rain. Fortunately since my wetsuit was still wet from yesterday I decided to try out my new drysuit. Good Choice. To cut a long story short I did get a couple of reasonably powered short sessions of half hour or so during the day, surfing straight into a rainbow at one point (couldn't get under it though - not enough wind :). Had a couple of walks back up the beach due to lack of wind. Borrowed Neil's Nobile 666 board and it was much nicer than mine with lots more flex and felt much lighter when off the water - so now I'm after one or similar... Spent lots of time standing around chatting and saw Kev's kite explode while parked on the beach in dead calm. Loud bang and 2 foot of LE bladder sticking out like a beach ball. Never seen that happen like that before and for some reason had us in stitches. Should have a sticker on it "Warning: kitesurfing can be dangerous. Kite may explode at any moment". Anyhow stayed nice and warm and dry all day so really pleased with new drysuit. 2 stars for a daft but vaguely entertaining day in the fresh air.
